Elements of a Tile

Tile Layout

Tile Title

Tile Titles can be turned on/off at the individual level however the styling is controlled at the design theme level to help maintain consistency.

Select the Alignment of a Title - Left or Center

On some tiles (SIngle KPI and Sparklines) Titles can be placed in the top or bottom of the tile and icons can be included to provide another visual element.

Options Menu

When options are provided to the end-user to download the chart image or data, an ellipse menu will appear in the top right corner of the tile where the user can access the configured options.

Visualization (Chart/Data)

The chart will always be centered in the given area of the tile based on the tile size and any additional components such as legends and labels.

Organizational Tiles have varying rules due to their unique nature. See the Organizational Tile section for specifics.

Tile Configuration

Configuring Data

Adding Data

Select the data to be displayed from the Data Tab. Each tile has a different data configuration to best present your data. As data is selected, the tile will display the data based on all applicable filters and settings.

Limiting & Sorting Data

For Tiles that include lists or multiple columns or data points, Limit & Sorting Enables limiting the amount of data presented simultaneously on the tile.

Select which column should be limited and define the rank position to best display your data. Sort by ascending or descending as needed.

Tile Actions (Interactive Visualizations)

Most tile types have the option to add tile actions to allow users to analyze their data, filter other tiles based on their criteria, or go to other sections of the host application.

Filtering Data

Filtering data can occur at the tile or collection level in Verb. Tile filters (also known as local filters) are available on Tiles in Dashboard collections only.

When setting a filter within an individual dashboard tile, the data will be pre-filtered for end-users. For example, you can create a tile that displays "Orders Fulfilled Last Week" by filtering the data to only show orders with a fulfilled date of last week (or any other relative date range).

Local filters can be set on any data in the model that is related to fields used in the tile. Local filters will override dashboard level filters if the same field is used at both filter levels.

Displaying Data and End-User Options

Most styling options for fonts and colors are set at the design theme level and applied across tiles to maintain consistency however, each tile type has varying design options in the tile display tab.

Verb provides features that allow end-users (embedded dashboard viewers) the ability to interact with tiles such as downloadable reports and tile actions/drill-downs.
